Hydro – forming has made possible to form complicated designed products that were considered too difficult in the past. As a result, the numbers of part containments are reduced and thinner material can be used. Hydro-forming has resulted in less weight and other cost reductions on products in which it is used.
Not only steel but all metals can be hydro formed. High water pressure is applied to the inside wall of a pipe set in a die. This pressure forces the pipe to bulge and contour to the desired shape. While a pipe is forming, axial force is applied to the pipe ends to prevent thinning of the wall thickness. This results in a product with uniform wall thickness. ■ Machine Capacity:300 tons
■ Hydro form pressure:100MPa ■ Maximum die size:600mm x 600mm ■ Exhaust piping
Hydro - forming is suitable for products requiring complex bending and/or stamping processes such as exhaust piping. The hydro - forming process achieves “weld process reduction”, ‘‘weight reduction by thinning the wall thickness” and “process step reduction.” Φ54×1.5t SUH409L ■ Exhaust manifold parts
